THE AGE OF STUPID Franny Armstrong | 92 min. | UK | 2009 Friday, December 4th, 7:30pm DCTV, 87 Lafayette Street, NYC
Gearing up towards the December 7th Copenhagen Climate Conference, DCTV & Shooting People are proud to present The Age of Stupid, a new cinema documentary from the Director of McLibel and the Producer of the Oscar-winning One Day in September. This enormously ambitious drama-documentary-animation hybrid stars Oscar-nominated Pete Postlethwaite as an old man living in the devastated world of 2055, watching 'archive' footage from 2008 and asking: why didn't we stop climate change while we had the chance?
Screening followed by a Q&A with the filmâs producer, Lizzie Gillett, in London. She has worked with Franny Armstrong on a number of political documentaries, such as McLibel which has now been seen by 35 million people around the world. She is also currently standing as a list candidate for the Green Party in New Zealand.
"The first successful dramatisation of climate change to reach the big screen." - The Guardian
