Award-winning soloists Kaya Katarzyna Bryla (violin) and Max Zuckerman (guitar) join forces in an exploration of repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary, from folk music to jazz
Luz Ana is a New Yorkbased violin-and-guitar ensemble consisting of Polish violinist Kaya Katarzyna Bryla and American guitarist Max Zuckerman. From baroque to contemporary music, and from folk to jazz, Luz Ana share a wide range of musical interests. As both soloists and chamber musicians, they have won many awards, such as the Ghitaralia International Chamber Music Competition, the Penderecki International Competition, and the J.C. Arriaga Chamber Competition. They have performed as guest artists and participants in Music@MENLO Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, La Guitarra California, the Panama National Guitar Festival, and the Baltimore, New York, St. Louis, and Norfolk Guitar Societies. As international performing artists, they have given concerts in Europe, South and Central America, Asia, and the United States.
Max and Kaya studied at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where they met. Their teachers include Herbert Greenberg, Christian Tetzlaff, Bartosz Bryla, Manuel Barrueco, and Benjamin Verdery.
