Simply Phenomenal: A Tribute to Maya Angelou at Contemporary Theatre
Simply Phenomenal, conceived and directed by Ricardo Pitts-Wiley, blends some of Maya Angelou's best loved poetry with music and multimedia elements to weave together a 60-minute show of humor and paths that celebrates and honors an American icon.
Ms. Angelou, who died on May 28th, 2014 has been an inspiration to people around the world. Her stories and words have been a particular inspiration to African American artists, as well as religious and political leaders.
This tribute will feature a diverse array of performers from the Mixed Magic family, as well as special guest artists for each performance. Check our website at mmtri.com for a complete listing of special guests and their performance dates.
