SF Choral Artists: Old Chestnuts, New Fire! choral concert, San Francisco
A tantalizing alternative to traditional December choral concerts, this program offers some of the season's more distinctive repertoire. Celebrate with this renowned chamber ensemble in a program of warm favorites requested by singers and audience alike. Music of Britten, Byrd, Pärt, Biebl, Busto, Gesualdo, and Tavener joins that of the Bay Area's own Aprahamian, Conte, Bielawa, Nixon, and others. Add two sparkling world premieres--San Jose Composer-In-Residence Brian Holmes' "Remember" and New Zealand Composer-Not-In-Residence Christopher Marshall's "Golden Carol", and you'll unwrap new favorites at this joyful concert. And plan to join the Choral Artists for a brief reception after the concert.
"The Choral Artists sang with fervor, discernment, and tonal beauty." -- Anna Carol Dudley, San Francisco Classical Voice
"...amongst the foremost unaccompanied singing groups... on this or any other coast." -- R. Dane Danubian, artssf.com
