WCTA Lunch Seminar Series: The Intersection of Information Technology and Energy
This month we discuss the application of our state's thought leadership in Information Technology to the challenges of the energy industry. Panelists will discuss how energy consumption can be replaced by software intelligence, the role of IT in intelligent building systems and how sophisticated hardware and software is reducing energy demands in businesses and homes. Doug Bors is President of Sophometrics, which he founded in 2003. Sophometrics provides design process consulting and design management services as well as several traditional engineering services. Jim Hanna is Vice President at Optimum Energy with over 25 years of experience in developing innovative information technology products and systems. Jim has extensive experience as a systems integrator in the delivery of large-scale information systems and networks. Bob Stolarski is Puget Sound Energy's Director of Customer Energy Management. He is responsible for PSEs energy efficiency programs and services. PSE provides a range of energy use monitoring and analysis tools to help customers understand and control their energy use and costs. The panel will be moderated by Jim Duncan, Chairman of the Board of Sparling and Vice-Chair of the American Council of Engineering Companies. He has led the profession through writing national design standards, and researching solar power applications. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the Program begins at 12:00. Lunch will be served. A question and answer period will follow the panel discussion.
