Cosy Sheridan
Cosy Sheridan's satirical viewpoints on everyday life have earned her a place in the hearts of fans across the country. Her concerts are wide-ranging explorations of modern mythology (meet Hades the Biker), love songs for adults, contemporary philosophy for the thoughtfully-minded and her signature parody on aging and women. Throughout this journey, her lyrical dexterity is backed by her distinctive, percussive bluesy-gospel guitar style.
She first caught the attention of national folk audiences in 1992 when she won the Kerrville Folk Festival and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival songwriting contests. The Boston Globe dubbed her 'one of the best new singer/songwriters."
Sheridan has released 10 CDs, her music is featured in the Robert Fulghum multi-media novel The Third Wish, and she tours consistently throughout the US. She co-founded and continues to be the force behind the Moab Folk Camp in Utah, and has been a sought-after teacher and clinician for the past 20 years.
"Her user-friendly musical philosophy sets her happily apart from the myopic, self-involved songwriters...She is a wonderfully lively, very funny and enormously amiable entertainer with a keen and wicked eye for the excesses of our fast-food, tv-happy and noisome culture." - The Boston Globe
"A buddhist monk in a 12-step program trapped in the body of a singer/songwriter." - The Albuquerque Journal
