Place Settings II: A Dinner at Crystal Spring Farm
We live for Farm Dinners! Our good friends at Crystal Spring Community Farm have been raising Katahdin Hairsheep and growing an unbelievable variety of delicious vegetables on their beautiful property since 2005. Master shepherd Tom Settlemire, farm manager Seth Kroeck and his wife Maura Bannon, and the rest of their terrific crew do everything with an eye toward present fantastic-ness and future sustainability. The property was saved from development by the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust in 1997, and they intend to make sure it stays beautiful and productive forever.
If you've eaten lamb from Rosemont, you know how special this operation is. Or perhaps you're a member of Crystal Spring Farm's fantastic CSA program and cook with their veggies. Or maybe you just want to enjoy a great meal, among fabulous folks, in an exquisite location.
Rosemont chef Brad Messier will team up with the Crystal Spring Community Farm crew to design a menu that shows off the beauty of their raw materials. We'll pair the multi-course menu with exceptional handmade wines. A tour of the farm and other "peeks inside" are part of the program. We'll dine in the heated barn.
Soon enough, fall will be in the past and you'll be hunkered down for the cold times, with not much to keep you warm except your memories of what you did a few months ago. Make sure this Farm Dinner is part of your memories!
