San Diego's 1st Annual Green Halloween
Green Addict is hosting the first ever "GREEN HALLOWEEN" on Saturday, October 31st, a private event to benefit Green Wave and It's All About The Kids/Partying for a Purpose!
We're big on fun, but we're also big on helping our earth and the future generation of movers and shakers, that means the kids! Whether young or old, we are all kids at heart and Halloween is a great opportunity for us Green Addicts to show our true intent and purpose!
We've chosen two worthy philanthropic organizations to benefit from this event, Green Wave led by the fabulous Janine Johnson, and It's All about the Kids/Partying for a Purpose, led by the amazing Angela Brannon. To learn more about their organizations, please check out these websites:

Green Halloween is here to show that it looks and feels better to throw a purposeful party rather than spending time and money on events where you see thousands of flyers and plastic water bottles strewn about...it is our mission to set a better example, starting with Halloween!
We'll be serving eco-friendly drinks and snacks along with dishing up a variety of THE BEST in San Diego and Los Angeles talent with special performances by DJs:

ABOUT GREEN HALLOWEEN: Green Halloween is a non-profit, grassroots initiative striving to create healthier, eco-friendlier holidays starting with Halloween. Launched in Seattle in 2007 by a mother of two, the nationwide movement is all about educating and inspiring communities by showing how easy, affordable, and fun it can be to factor our earth and our health into our daily choices.
You can help by making simple changes in your own traditions and encouraging others to do the same!
* Instead of giving away conventional candy, consider items such as pencils made from recycled newsprint, temporary tattoos sporting eco-savvy themes, or 100% fruit leathers. Even organic lollipops are better for children and the planet and some come in compostable wrappers. * Instead of buying a costume this year, see if you can make one out of materials you have lying around your house, can borrow from a friend or can find at a thrift store. Or, host a costume swap with your neighbors. * Decorate your front lawn, porch and home with items from nature. Pumpkins, gourds and hay are all great, green items that can be composted when November 1st rolls around. * Save candy wrappers and instead of tossing them, turn them into treasures. Check the Internet for cool ways you can upcycle candy wrappers into bracelets, purses, picture frames and more.
