"LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE" SPEECH-LANGUAGE-HEARING HEALTHCARE PROGRAM
Nashville, TN The 6th Annual Laughter is the Best Medicine Speech-Language-Hearing Healthcare Program December Gala honors TSU Nutrition Educator Leslie Speller-Henderson and the Tennessee Aquatic Project [TAP] Children & Youth Program on December 28th from 6:00p 10:00p at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel, Grand Ballroom, 2025 Rosa Parks Blvd, featuring Masters of Ceremony Lelan A. Statom and Tuwanda Coleman from NewsChannel5, catered reception, speech-language-hearing screenings, dance professional Nykolla Sweeney, Cremona Strings Ensemble Too, Paul Jack & Co., Comedians Leslie Nash & John Bowman, Visual Artists Michael McBride & introducing Donna Hampton, with Eugenia Sweeneys Collards & Caviar theater production of Purlie. To help make the night a memorable one, a gift raffle will surely add to the holiday spirit. This event is a black tie, formal affair at no cost to the public.
L.A.S. Therapy Network and Development Group, Inc. has provided free to sliding scale speech and hearing screenings, diagnostics, therapy, and/or education consultation services to more than 2,000 children and adult Tennessee participants, including, but not limited to, free hearing aids, hearing aid batteries, ear surgery, dental cleaning care, infant/child car seats, books, amplified telephones, district attorney victims unit referrals, and follow-up services with ear-nose-throat specialists, audiologists, speech-language pathologists and/or physicians.
L.A.S. Therapy Network and Development Group, Inc. is a non-profit organization developed to provide quality rehabilitation and habilitation services to infants, children, and adults with cognition, communication, oral motor, swallowing and/or hearing deficits. Screening, diagnostic, therapy, legal, and/or academic services are available twelve months a year, nationally and internationally, in acute, sub-acute, rehab, home health, transitional care, out-patient, and hospice care environments. Further, hearing aids, hearing aid batteries, amplification devices, telecommunication devices, and other augmentative/assistive devices needed to communicate during activities of daily living are provided at no cost to them. Partnerships with the Wholesale Copy Services Inc., TN Arts Commission, TN Department of Health, TN Regulatory Authority, Tennessee State University Dental Hygiene Clinic, Tennessee State University Health Administration, Purity Dairy, Pepsi Bottling Company, Helistar Aviation, Rock Harbor Marine/Blue Moon Lagoon Restaurant, Ole South Realty, NashvilleStandUp.com, Bookem, Books From Birth, What If?Productions, Nashville School for the Arts, Cane Ridge H.S., and many others help support the programs events throughout the years.
