Snap Jackson & the Knock on Wood Players
Snap Jackson & the Knock on Wood Players are an acoustic trio hailing from Stockton California that formed in the fall of 2008. These three gentlemen effortlessly blend Americana, Bluegrass, Soul, & Old Time Music to create a unique, fresh, & energetic sound. It is obvious from the moment this group takes the stage that they are ready to have a good time. They have played with such notable acts as Darol Anger, Bill Nershi, and the James King Band, just to name a few. They recently celebrated the release of their debut album, "A Breath of Fresh" which consists of all original songs. Whether it's a street corner, theatre, or outdoor festival, these boys are sure to leave a lasting impression.
They say their sound has been influenced by John Hartford, Nina Simone, Gillian Welch, Doc Watson, Jerry Garcia, "Stuff" Smith, Sonny Terry, Townes Van Zandt, Joe Craven, Steve Martin, The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Elisabeth Cotton, Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, Bill Monroe, Ray Brown, Sam Cooke, The Dixie Chicks, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Darol Anger, The Beatles, Tom Petty, Woody Guthrie, and Pete Seeger.
