Be mystified as you listen to the haunting melodies of Ravel's Bolero. Sit back and let your imagination run wild as the images play in your head.
Then continue to excite your imaginations through a musical description of an orchestra through Benjamin Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra. Each instrument and instrument family is showcased individually for an Up-Close listen, and then at the conclusion the orchestra all plays together in a very famous theme from Henry Purcell. Jannie Meisberger's narration will help you navigate this exciting adventure.
Also on the program will be a young musician who has won the Very First Everett Philharmonic Concerto Competition! We'll post the winner's name and music selection as soon as the winner is decided.
To prepare you for the upcoming Holiday Season, the orchestra will perform Alan Silvestri's Polar Express Suite AND Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride.
A marvelous cast of musicians and the joy of symphonic music await you!
Come and explore the wonder of symphonic music in a program designed for "kids" from 3 to 103! Kids will also have an opportunity to meet the instruments up close after the performance.
