ARTOPIA
On Friday, November 6th, SWAY Events and the Grand Canyon Performing Arts will present Artopia. Artopia will be an evening of pop, complete with surprises of Andy Warhol proportion. Artopia will be held at monOrchid art gallery in the heart of downtown Phoenix. On this First Friday, the stunning gallery space will open its doors to a diverse crowd where everyone can experience their fifteen minutes of fame. The energy of the Factory era will be alive with body painted models and famous faces, including Marilyn Monroe. The eclectic sounds of a live deejay promise to keep guests moving in the art studio dance space. It will be all about funky fashion along with cocktails and artsy appetizers served off paint palettes. Artists will wow guests with their talents over the duration of the evening with live art exhibits. Even attendees will have a chance to express their inner artist with a giant paint by number wall and other interactive art projects. The event will also host a special art themed silent auction and raffle of pieces donated by local and national artists in order to raise funds for the Grand Canyon Performing Arts. $20 advance VIP tickets are encouraged and include a reception of appetizers, cocktails and giveaways from 6-7:30PM. A showing and invitation for the general public will welcome First Friday guests starting at 7:30.
