collision_theory workshop: Contemporary Dance Partnering
collision_theory workshop: Contemporary Dance Partnering How To Have a Gutsy Collaboration Without Biting Each Others' Heads Off with guest artists Julia Rae Antonick and Jonathan Meyer. / This workshop will address partnering skills and compositional tools. Looking at the collaborative process: how to know and voice your own opinion, challenge your partner and draw forth their strengths, while addressing the value and limitations of each other's habits to compromise with each other without compromising the work. / *collision_theory curated by Links Hall Artistic Associates, Rachel Damon & Dan Mohr is a year-long festival. "As an improvising artist in both music and movement, the events of collision_theory have long been a fantasy of mine. In dance contexts, music is often relegated to an ancillary, 'wallpaper' status. Curating the series affords me an opportunity to see artists whom I admire from both disciplines performing together on a level planeand to share that experience with a unique audience of dance, music, and improvisation enthusiasts alike. This is very exciting." ~ Dan Mohr
