Tenth Anniversary Record Lonesome Release!
On November 12th, 2004, Corin Raymond released his first album, Record Lonesome Night, in the Main Hall of The Tranzac club in Toronto.
On November 12th, 2014, ten years to the very night, Raymond celebrates this project which launched his present-day career, established his reputation as a songwriter, and has permeated through the world of roots fans by a decade-long, folk-music osmosis. This release of the repackaged record includes an 80-page booklet containing the chords to the songs, accompanied by reflections on first albums, the creative process, and anecdotes which piece together Corin's development as a solo artist.
For an underground, independent release, Record Lonesome Night has enjoyed a rich life: Although the album was never toured or publicized, songs from its tracklist ("That's Life (Loving You Right Back)," "One Fine Day," "Give It April," "Three Thousand Miles," "Something To Lean On," "Record Lonesome Night") have been variously covered and recorded by other artists.
The evening of Wednesday, November 12th, 2014 will feature special guests Evalyn Parry (who opened the original release and whose song "Bucket of Time" Raymond included on his latest album Paper Nickels), as well as Jack Breakfast, Declan O'Donovan, and Angie Gunn, three powerful local artists whom Corin is excited to share with his audience.
Corin and his band The Sundowners (with a good chance of surprise guests) will perform Record Lonesome Night in its entirety.
Record Lonesome posters, plus Record Lonesome T-Shirts featuring lyrics from several songs, will be available. Killer night guaranteed.
By purchasing your ticket(s) in advance, you're helping to make this project possible. The truth is, I can't do it without you. Another way to ensure this release realizes its full magical potential (and it will be magical) is to purchase the album in advance, which can you do here:
