WRITING MATTERS: Mark Slouka
Mark Slouka is a highly esteemed writer of both fiction and non fiction. His latest, a novel called Brewster, generated high praise, as his books always do. The Chicago Tribune said, "Gorgeously written. A novel about human frailty, friendship, yearning, heart and love." Brian Hall said, "If ecstasy was Nabokov's keynote, Slouka's is passion. I can think of no one else who writes with such brazen fervor, with so much heart poured onto every line." Writing Matters, created by author Elizabeth Berg, believes in providing enthusiastic exposure to authors who deserve it by offering an event in a beautiful venue four times a year that will edify, entertain and inspire. We want to provide a real evening out with a great author, food, wine, flowers, and always a surprise or two. We mean to have our attendees walk out with a smile on their face and lot to talk about over dinner. Any proceeds from ticket sales go to buy books for elementary school libraries in need. It's a win, win, win situation for the author, the audience, and the libraries. Come to see the authors that writers recommend!
