On Saturday, October 4th, 2014, at 3p, the Fremont Fireside Chat series of free, live presentations on Fremont history and culture welcomes an authority on it all. Artist Roger Wheeler will give, at History House, an account of his first-hand, Fremont history.
Wheeler has achieved acclaim, internationally, for his mask making, much of it created while he lived in Fremont from 1956 2004. While here, he operated an arts supply store, helped found the Fremont Arts Council, worked at the Fremont Sunday Market, served on the History House Board, and wrote about Fremont history for the Fremont Chamber. This one-hour program, presented by Fremocentrist.com, is generously sponsored by HomeStreet Bank. The free presentation will end with a question-and-answer, and a juice-and-cookie reception, in the covered sculpture garden of the museum.

Also, mark your calendar for the next Fireside Chat, on November 15th at 3p, on the history of Fremont from 1850 1900, and in 2015, on January 24th, at 2p, celebrating the 140th anniversary of the first platting of Fremont with Mayor Armin Napoleon Stepanian.
