Second Sunday Concert Series - Cordei
Join us over the Thanksgiving weekend when CORDEI harp and violin duo returns to the parlour on Sunday, October 12th. Presenting a varied program of French repertoire and pieces by celebrated Vancouver composers Michael Conway Baker and Owen Underhill, this award winning duo always plucks exactly the right string.
This unique chamber duo, formed in 2012, is quickly becoming one of Vancouver's premier contemporary ensembles. Already Albertina and Janna were presented with Jessie Awards for Significant Artistic Achievement following their work together on the multi-award winning Patrick Street Productions of The Light In The Piazza. CORDEI is committed to promoting contemporary music, especially the works of Canadian composers. In September 2012, the duo premiered Park Bench Play by Kathleen Allan, a chamber opera written for CORDEI, soprano and tenor, as part of the Tom Cone Opera Project 2012. In addition to traditional recitals, other projects include work on a silent dance film with original score written for CORDEI by Iman Habibi in conjunction with the Vancouver Film School and creating the soundscapes for "Saturated Phenomenon" in conjunction with visual artist Erica Grimm. About the Second Sunday Concert Series:
This concert is part of a monthly concert series, taking place on the 2nd Sunday of each month, in the afternoon. Come at 1pm, for Tea and Tour before the concert (included in the price of the ticket), or show up right before 3pm for the concert, at your convenience

Options include the parking lot at the Empire Landmark Hotel (Robson & Broughton) or street parking on Robson and in the West End.
Parking spots are scarce in the neighbourhood, so give yourself some extra time or use public transportation. (Closest Skytrain station: Burrard. We are on the #5 Robson bus route)
