SIDD
The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild is pleased to announce that it will host two performances of SIDD, a modern adaption of Siddhartha, on Saturday, September 27th at 8pm and Sunday, September 28th at 2pm at the Byrdcliffe Theater. SIDD is being presented in partnership with New Light Theater Project, a New York City based company dedicated to building collaborative relationships with artists and communities. SIDD was partially developed while NLTP Co-Founders, Sarah Norris and Michael Aguirre, were in residence at Byrdcliffe this June. Tickets are $15 and will be sold at the door. For more information, please visit http://www.woodstockguild.org/ai1ec_event/sidd-new-theater-light-project/
After a sold-out run at the Gift Theatre in Chicago, SIDD will perform in New York City before returning to Woodstock. Set in a modern major city, Sidd leaves the cozy comfort of the "burbs" in order to find the true meaning of happiness in the Big City. The only thing stopping him: The People. This production of SIDD sets the popular Herman Hesse tale in contemporary times. Our story follows a man on his search for enlightenment (instead of seeking a job with benefits) and explores the perceptions that our culture has on this individual.
New Light Theater Project is an award-winning theater company dedicated to collaboration. NLTP acts as a conduit for artists whose work speaks to the current culture in order to build and sustain relationships within the community. For more information, visit www.NewLightTheaterProject.com.
