KSER Basic Broadcast Class - News & Public Affairs
A special version of the KSER Basic Broadcast Class with focus on news & public affairs designed for those who would like to be involved in news and/or public affairs programming on KSER or for other purposes.
An evening 2-hour weekly class designed to cover the basics of understanding how to work in community radio. A veteran KSER broadcaster will explain the basics information on how to produce and perform news and public affairs programming.
Class will cover the basics of understanding broadcast equipment and technique and the rules and regulations that apply to community broadcasting.
The class is the perfect starting ground for those interested in volunteering as a producer or on-air performer in community radio.
The course will cover the best practices for interviewing; field recording; script writing; news ethics and the basics of digital editing.
Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for six (6) weeks.
