WPR Presents: Supernatural - A Live Old Time Radio Drama Event
Experience the golden age of radio with Supernatural, a live radio drama event from Wisconsin Public Radio. Norman Gilliland hosts this performance by the 9XM Players with music by the Kat Trio in historic Music Hall on the UW-Madison campus.
Norman has selected two classic stories from the archives: "The Adventures of Topper", a comedy about a man who encounters husband and wife ghosts; and, "It Happened Tomorrow", a suspenseful story about a reporter who mysteriously gets his hands on tomorrow's newspaper and some of the news is bad for him! WPR is offering two performances of this show: a family-friendly matinee at 1:30 p.m. and a live evening broadcast performance at 8 p.m. General admission tickets are $20 for the matinee, $25 for the evening performance. A very limited number of VIP tickets are available for the evening performance. VIP tickets are $50 and include a prime reserved seat at the evening performance, a pre-show reception and tour of WPR's historic home - Radio Hall, 975 Observatory, just off Bascom Hill - with wine, cheese and chocolate pairings, live music and a chance to meet some of your favorite WPR hosts. Join us as we celebrate 25 years of Old Time Radio Drama and mark 100 years since WPR received our first experimental broadcast license, 9XM. All proceeds support Wisconsin Public Radio.
