Museum
Please note that this production is performed in various museums and galleries throughout the Bay Area. Please check times and locations carefully to ensure that you are attending the correct location.
We also encourage patrons to sit, stand and move around. We have a limited number of benches, but also provide stools and pillows for those who ask.
The performance is 75 minutes.
Detailed venue information is located below and on our website: http://www.boxcartheatre.org/Page/museum.html
Aficionados, snobs, obnoxious college girls, and a disgruntled security guard scrutinize a modern art exhibit on its final day. Performed in actual museums throughout the Bay Area, 38 actors grace the "stage" prodding conceptual art as they observe three seemingly blank canvases and paper human figures hanging from a clothesline accompanied by a bowl of clothespins, which no one can seem to keep their hands off of.
Due to the unique nature of this event, we strongly encourage reservations ahead of time.

Attending a Wax Museum performance has an added treat! Arrive anytime after 7pm and enjoy the wonders of the Fisherman's Wharf Wax Museum before the show starts. The show starts at 8pm, which gives you an hour to see over 230 historic and famous figures making it one of the largest wax museums in the world! Only four performances occur at the Wax Museum and we can only allow 85 patrons a night. Surely this will be one of the most unique and absurd performances we have.

Dolby Chadwick Gallery 210 Post Street, Suite 205 San Francisco CA, 94108
Fri Nov 6 Sat Nov 7
Established in 1997, the Dolby Chadwick Gallery offers exceptional views of downtown San Francisco and fantastic emerging art. With a sleek design and beautiful hard wood floors, the gallery itself is a piece of art. These two performances will offer a terrific view of our production of Museum and give you a chance to meander around Union Square before or after the show. The Cheesecake Factory is right around the corner, of course, so is their line of people waiting to get a table!
Getting there: Transportation to and from the Union Square area is available by public transit (MUNI lines: 2, 3, 4, 9, 16, 30, 38, 45, 76, 81 and the historic F Market street cars) including BART Stations Montgomery and Powell. Although street parking is free after 6pm you may decide to do yourself a favor and try the Stockton Sutter Garage or White House Garage (above Banana Republic).

Johansson Projects 2300 Telegraph Avenue Oakland, CA 94612
Fri Nov 13
If you truly want to encounter what Boxcar refers to as Experiential Theatre this is the gallery to visit. A quaint space with arches dividing the gallery, audience members are encouraged to move around and change their point of view. Only forty audience members can be accommodated in this intimate and ever-changing space, which is as much a piece of art as the work hanging on their walls (and ceilings!).
Getting there: It's a snap to get to the gallery if you are coming from SF. After crossing the Bay Bridge, follow the signs for 880. Take the very first exit, West Grand. Follow Grand, crossing Mandela Pkwy, to Telegraph and take a left. Follow Telegraph until you get to 23rd. If you'd rather take it easy, hop on BART and get off at 19th Street (and Broadway). Walk West one block to Telegraph and turn right. Walk North four blocks and you are there.

The Kala Art Institute Gallery 2990 San Pablo Avenue Berkeley, CA 94702
Sat Nov 14
Located in what used to be the Heinz Factory with architecture Julia Morgan had a hand in designing, this vast open gallery offers an exceptional view of the show. Because of its incredible size, this only night in Berkeley performance can accommodate over one hundred patrons, even allowing a few lucky audience members the opportunity get up close and personal and sit right in the middle of the action. Don't worry though-you wont be pulled on stage. Some even say a hint of ketchup still lingers in the air...
Getting there: If driving from I-80, exit at Ashby Ave., drive east (away from bay) to San Pablo Ave. Turn left onto San Pablo, and look for parking which is ample at this location. Although we recommend driving as the fastest mode of transportation, you may choose to take BART to 19th St. Oakland. On the street, catch the 72 or 72R AC Transit bus, ride it to the intersection of San Pablo and Ashby, and get off. OR, take BART to the Ashby station, walk or bike down Russell St. (parallel to Ashby one block north) to San Pablo Ave, and turn right. The gallery is located on San Pablo between Ashby and Heinz.

Autobody Fine Art Gallery 1517 Park Street Alameda, CA 94501
Fri Nov 20 Sat Nov 21 ~ Post-show reception following closing night performance
Located in what used to be the second floor of an autobody repair shop, the closing weekend performances of Museum are located in a venue as wacky as the show. With faint hints of cold steel and hot oil still lingering in the air, the art hanging on the walls is as one of a kind as the gallery is. The curators of this venue are as approachable as the work and have demanded they host post-show receptions following each performance located in their venue. We hope you can join us for what will be a stellar ending to an already crazy run.
Getting there: You wouldn't think getting to this friendly little island could have so many options. From the Bay Bridge take 880 South towards San Jose. Take the 23rd Street exit. 23rd street becomes the Park Street Bridge. Cross the Park Street Bridge and continue on Park Street, one block past Lincoln. We are on your right, on the floor above Park Street Antiques. From Hwy 24, I-80, or 580: take 980 South towards downtown Oakland, then follow the directions above from 880 South. Public Transportation: We are close to stops on AC Transit bus lines 51, 19, 63, W, O and OX. The Fruitvale Bart Station is a 10 minute bike ride. Or you could always swim! The Autobody Fine Art Gallery phone number is 510.865.2608 *Please do not call for show information. They are available for directions and museum information. Call 1.800.838.3006 for tickets or 415.776.1747 for show and general information.
