Reimagining Market Street as a World-class Landmark Boulevard
Construction planned for 2017 to upgrade utilities underneath Market Street creates a unique opportunity to reimagine a better Market Street that balances the competing demands of all its stakeholders from pedestrians and bicyclists to taxis, buses and private vehicles, and to remake the street into a Grand Boulevard inspired by the Champs-Élysées in Paris and other of the world's grand boulevards. Hear from Members of the Design Team who have been studying alternatives to the redesign of Market Street (and possibly Mission Street) to convert our City's grand boulevard to more than just a traffic right-of-way and into a world-class destination.
