Tibet House US is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 educational institution and cultural embassy whose purpose is to help preserve and maintain the ancient traditions of Tibetan civilization. It was established in 1987 under the auspices of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
This year we have pledged to give a portion of the proceeds to the Tibetan Children's Village (TCV), an ntegrated educational community for destitute Tibetan children in exile, as well as for hundreds of those escaping from Tibet every year. TCV was established in 1960 by Tsering Dolma Takla, the elder sister of H.H. the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India and has been the main school for Tibetan refugee children.Tibet House will also continue to give a portion of the proceeds from this event to the Tibetan Community Cultural Center being built in Queens, New York, by the Tibetan Community of New York and New Jersey.
