Dinner Theater - "Complete Works of Shakespeare (abridged)"
For lovers and haters of Shakespeare alike, Stage Door Theatrical Company is pleased to fulfill your cultural quota by presenting all of the bard's work in one show! Dust off your doublets, clean up your couplets, and get thee to Stage Door's production of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)".
Three high-energy actors -- Morgan Belcher, Michael Gibbons, and Clinton Wilburn -- have come together to do the seemingly impossible. They will perform all of Shakespeare's plays in under two hours, portraying 75 different characters along the way. This long overdue roast of the Bard's works has one goal for its actors -- go faster and be funnier than ever before! Audiences will see Othello as a rap, all the history plays as a football game, and Hamlet done in 30 seconds, then backwards.
"The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield is a fantastic roller-coaster ride through anything-for-a-laugh gags, inspired by the likes of Saturday Night Live, Monty Python, and Mel Brooks. With three of Stage Door's most talented actors along for the ride - making loads of costume changes, utilizing numerous unusual props, and venturing out into the audience to make a few part of the show -- audiences will forever more think of Shakespeare in a decidedly friendlier way.
"The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)" will open on Saturday, February 12 with a special dinner theater performance catered by the Two Olives Cafe of Moore. The dinner menu includes an appetizer, beverages, dessert, fresh Caesar salad, hot dinner rolls, and chicken picatta served with almond green beans and parmesan risotto. Dinner will begin at 7:00PM and the show will start at 8:00PM. Tickets for dinner and the show are $28.
