WASHINGTON STATE COALITION FOR LANGUAGE ACCESS SUMMIT 2014
GOT LANGUAGE ACCESS? CULTURE, COLLABORATION, AND SOLUTIONS
WASCLA's 2-day Language Access Summit, Summit IX, will be held on OCTOBER 24-25, 2014 at the Hilton Seattle Airport & Conference Center.
Do you work in or use the services of the courts, legal profession, law enforcement, healthcare facilities, schools, government agencies or community organizations? Do clients and the broader public have full and equal access to all of your services?
Have you found ways to offer full access for both spoken and signed languages?
Do you seek solutions with the collaboration of language professionals and representatives of the many cultural groups who reside in Washington?
If you answered "yes" to these questions, you Got Language Access and we invite you to participate in this year's Language Access Summit and share your expertise, success stories, and challenges. If you answered "no" to any of these questions, we invite you to join us and learn in a collaborative and supportive environment.
As we mark 50 years since the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, please join us to reflect on the progress we've made and discuss solutions to the barriers that remain.

WHEN: October 24 & 25, 2014 doors open at 8:30 each day of the conference.
WHERE:Hilton Seattle Airport & Conference Center 17620 International Blvd. Seattle WA 98188.
FEES: $125 conference fee for attending one or both days. We have aimed to keep the cost of attending the Summit as low as possible and as such, we cannot offer a one-day registration amount.
REGISTRATION: Please use this page to purchase your registration ticket to attend the Summit. Please note that there is only one ticket option available as "general admission." This ticket will gain entrance to one day or both days of the conference. We do not have a one-day attendance rate.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Interpreters, translators, attorneys, judges, policy makers, educators, public and private sector service providers, law enforcement personnel, advocates, students and community members are encouraged to attend to discuss a variety of language access topics.
CEU Information:
WASCLA Summit IX has been awarded 7.5 CEU's from the Washington AOC court interpreter program. Specific CEU information is available at: http://www.wascla.org/library/folder.535663-Summit_IX
ASL Interpreters: RID PIRNA Continuing Education Credits can be arranged directly with ASL Interpreter Network by filling out the PIRNA form at: www.aslnetwork.com/education or by emailing: manager@aslnetwork.com to arrange.
We have submitted requests for CEU's with the California Court interpreter program as well as with the Washington State Bar Association. Those credits are pending.
WASCLA is also in the process of submitting the conference program to DSHS to be listed on their site of approved continuing education credits. This is in process.

If you work for an agency or entity that requires a purchase order prior to registration, please contact us at wascla.lep@gmail.com as early as possible so that we may process your request. We are an all-volunteer organization and so replies can be delayed. Thank you for understanding.
Hotel Accommodations and travel information will be posted on the WASCLA website at: www.wascla.org. We have secured a room rate for $89.00 per night. See our website for more information.
Onsite parking: We have secured a reduced parking rate of $8.00 per vehicle per day for onsite parking. Vouchers will be distributed on-site at the registration desk.
Refund Policy: Refund requests must be submitted in writing to wascla.lep@gmail.com. Refunds will be issued per the following:
Refund requests received before October 15, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. will be issued a full refund minus a $25.00 administration fee. No refunds will be given for requests made after 12:01 p.m. on October 15th, 2014.
