Melancholy Play: A Contemporary Farce
The University of New Orleans presents Sarah Ruhl's "Melancholy Play: A Contemporary Farce," directed by J Hammons.
In this play, the MacArthur Award-winning playwright explores, with her typical whimsy, questions of melancholy, love, and how we affect the emotions of others. The surreal action of the play follows a bank teller named Tilly and the people around her who fall in love, turn into almonds, find a lost twin, and collect vials of tears.
