The Jazz Intervention Project featuring Jeff Kashiwa
N-Motion Entertainment will be presenting the Jazz Intervention Project featuring special guest artist, Jeff Kashiwa on Sunday October 19, 2014 @ 6:00 pm at Latitude 360, 200 Quinn Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15275.
Jazz Intervention is a musical competition that will occur every 3rd Sunday of the month, featuring high school bands. Judges will select at least three to four members from each band that display extraordinary musical talent. At the end of the Jazz Intervention Project in the spring of 2015, those selected musicians will collectively make up the 'all star' jazz band and have the opportunity to perform with a national recording artist. It just doesn't get any better than this!
Our feature guest artist for the evening is Jeff Kashiwa who established himself in the 90's as one of the most diverse saxmen in contemporary jazz during his decade long tenure with The Rippingtons. It surprised many when Jeff left the group to venture out on his own, but he had things to say through his own music. He has since returned to the Rippingtons and continues to tour with them as time allows.
In 2004, Kashiwa founded The Sax Pack, a trio of saxophone headliners, featuring himself, Steve Cole and Marcus Anderson. The group released two CDs together and charmed audiences with their Rat Pack style reparte' in tours across the U.S. and abroad. Also, opening for the evening will be Pittsburgh's own Swag Monkeys with members Winston Bell, Henry Schultz, Desmond Rucker and Philippa Zang. We're looking forward to and are excited about this group of young people, who have been performing all around the Pittsburgh area.
This is one show you don't want to miss !!
