Blue Jay Brings Back the Moon: A Celebration of Native Arts & Culture
A festive evening of celebrating the amazing talent of Native artists, Blue Jay Brings Back the Moon is an annual event of Na'ah Illahee Fund (formerly Tierra Madre). Based on a Snoqualmie story, the trickster Blue Jay is summoned to travel to a far away place to bring back the stolen Moon, signifying the return of culture and tradition.
In this FREE event, Na'ah Illahee (Mother Earth) Fund brings together music, visual and media arts in a marketplace and lively program for the community, featuring a dinner of local and traditional foods.
The all-day Artists' marketplace opens @ 10:00 AM in collaboration with United Indian's Elders Program. Art Mart is a fundraising activity for the Elders.
Funding for Blue Jay is provided by the City of Seattle Office of Arts & Culture's Cultural Partners Program and Na'ah Illahee Fund. Limited seating for 6:00 PM Dinner and program, tickets required.
All activities are free, family-friendly and open to the public.
