DESCRIPTION:

Buenos Aires, Argentina. 1976

Kaddish, who defaces graves for a living, and his insurance clerk wife, Lillian, strive against the forces of inflation and political insecurity to provide a normal life for their obstinate teenage son. When the 'Dirty War' infiltrates their home, Kaddish and Lillian are forced into a search that will challenge their faith, their sanity, and their very union.

Transforming 300 pages* of narrative into three hours of theatre requires us to distill the story and find the most effective way to bring it to life theatrically. JTC's work has been distinguished by its adaptation of stories that preserve the narrative voice of the author - maintaining the original language as the center of the theatrical event.
