Learn lots of techniques for making beautiful and interesting collages. Techniques to be covered will include painting papers, using ink, stitching and stencils as well as photos, ephemera and more to make your own mark. Students will be given a materials list at time of registration and some basic supplies and tools will be provided.
Class will be on Wednesday mornings from 10:30-11:45 am Oct. 1, 8. 15, and 22nd Cost is 65.00 for members and $75 for non-members.
Materials List:
Gel medium-matte or gloss or some of both or Mod Podge (gel medium is more archival and works well with paint as well and can be used for image transfer as well so that might be the better choice) 2 canvas panels any size 2 studio canvas- choose something in a manageable size such as 8 x10, 11 x 14 or 16 x 20 a few sheets of watercolor paper any size and weight big hake brush-this is big soft brush used for painting. it is cheap. you can also use a soft paint brush from hardware store. nothing fancy. photos you want to use tracing paper fine tip sharpie pens in black, brown and any other colors you wish a pair of scissors special things you want to include in some collages including ticket stubs, patterned tissue paper, scrapbook paper, etc.
The instructor will provide graphite paper, basic acrylic paints, watercolor, water cups, palettes, ink pads, embroidery thread, fabric scraps, needles, fusible bond, stencils and stamps, brushes and sponge brushes though students are welcome to bring their own as well.
