You Go To My Head with Ellen Robinson and The Don't Wait Too Long Band
"She treats a lyric like a friend. Her thoughtful voicings keep you paying attention to the words, with that rare ability to make you think she's right there talking to you." Jazzweekly
This concert will showcase Ellen's signature mix of jazz standards, modern pop and a sprinkling of blues, all delivered with her personal twist. The stories and emotions in these tunes, as well as the music itself, will transport you and may even "go to your head." Jazz singer, songwriter, bandleader, educator and choral director Ellen Robinson started her career as a singer-songwriter in New York City and shifted to jazz after coming to the Bay Area in the 80's. She has become known as an artist with a clear, heartfelt vision, exquisite taste, and lovely voice that lingers in your ear long after the music has finished.
"Turn her loose on songs that have interesting harmonic content and need emotional interpretationand that's when she cooks." Downbeat Magazine
