George and his wife Martha, a history professor and the daughter of the university president, return home from a faculty mixer and prepare to entertain their guests. Nick, the new young professor in biology and his young, seemingly naive wife Honey arrive just in time to partake in George and Martha's wild games of humiliation, quickly becoming intertwined in the revelation of secrets, regrets, and embarrassments.
Edward Albee's shattering drama which exploded on Broadway in 1962 here in a new production directed by LAVC student Ben Hernandez with scenery designed by LAVC Theater Department chair Jennifer Read, costumes by LAVC instructor Mary Reilly and lighting designed by LAVC student Steven Montoya. Propmaster is Stephanie Morales. The Production Stage Manager is Rachel Sonski. The cast includes LAVC students Kiki Bennett, Matt McLaughlin, Michael James, and Amy Lynn Perea.
All performances are at 7:30pm in the Horseshoe Theater, Los Angeles Valley College (note the earlier curtain time!) Our official opening night is Friday October 17 and performances continue Saturday, October 18, and Friday and Saturday, October 24 and 25.
