Traditional, Artisanal Tapas from Spain by Maestro Español and The Cheese Traveler
Artisanal Foods from Spain by Maestro Español Spaniards have a very active social life. The weather, the infrastructure of cities, tight social networks, and the large number of bars and restaurants contribute to a bustling life in the street. Food and drink are at the center of daily activity during regular meetings among friends, relatives and colleagues. Tapas play an important role in these encounters and have a rich and complex history. They vary region by region and bars often have specific tapas that are their claim to fame.
In this class, taught by Maestro Español -- Yuri Morejón from Bilbao, Spain and Dr. Marcela Garcés, Assistant Professor of Spanish, Siena College -- and Eric Paul of The Cheese Traveler, we will taste five courses of popular artisanal tapas (including cheese), talk about the cultural connotations of cuisines in Spain: culinary customs, the history of tapas, and Spanish expressions related to food.
Bonus All class attendees will receive a 10% discount off your purchase from The Cheese Traveler!
