An exciting collaboration of Heritage Chorale with the internationally acclaimed Bluegrass Band, Monroe Crossing, performing Carol Barnett's, "The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass", composed for Monroe Crossing. This amazing work (to quote from the band's website) "blends the classical mass, modern choral sophistication, touching poetry and traditional bluegrass instrumentation into an exhilarating musical experience."
"The World Beloved" is such a different choral work that we are thrilled to be one of the first choral groups to present it in the Metro West area, and the first to perform it here with Monroe Crossing themselves.
Rounding out the program will be a variety of American folk songs and spirituals by the Chorale, as well as a set of Bluegrass works by Monroe Crossing.
