"Sacred Side of Soulsville" is an original, Broadway-style musical production featuring music, drama,dancing, and more, all performed by students of the world-renowned Stax Music Academy in Memphis,Tennessee. Focusing on the gospel roots of soul music and soul music created specifically in Memphis, this musical marries the ideas of blues and gospel traditions and how they intertwined to make some of the most popular music in history. From sacred, communal African dances to the bouncing lindy hops of juke joints, "Sacred Side of Soulsville" is pumped with rhythm, religion, and music that changed the world.
