Ephemera is an exploration of humankind's quest to preserve memories. Using movement, scientific research and original text, this interdisciplinary piece grapples with our relationship to the Earth, the art we make, and the mark we leave behind. The oldest known cave paintings were perfectly preserved by a miracle of natural occurrences for thousands of years; yet contemporary society will go to great lengths to scrapbook a vacation or take the perfect instagram. The Earth preserves ancient memories, making rock the ultimate "unlimited data", but the information on the walls is still wrought with mystery. Dance and text will provide an ephemeral moment of exploration and community. This collaboration will also draw from interviews with scientists and specialists from the American Museum of Natural History and various Universities.
