Pressure Points for Sensation Play Featuring Jonathan of SeattleShibari.Com
Pressure points have been used forthousands of years for combat, healing, and sensual play. In this two-hour workshop, Jonathan will guide you through traditional exercises and techniques to access these vital points. Drawing from Chinese & Japanese martial arts and healing traditions, you'll learn a variety of ways to induce pain or pleasure safely and precisely, leaving no marks on the body. This workshop will feature a lecture and demonstration portion on the anatomy of some of the pressure point and meridian lines we'll be using, but expect to spend the majority of the class getting plenty of hands on practice in a friendly, non- competitive environment.
Bring a partner with you, if possible, but if you don't have a partner, we'll help match people up. Bring water and a yoga mat or blanket. If you want, bring a sharpie or pen to mark vital points on the body for reference. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing, keeping in mind that you'll need to be able to see and touch many areas across the body.
There is no prerequisite for this course, and it is appropriate for all genders and sexual orientations. To ensure personal attention to each participant, class size will be limited to 20 people. Due to the small class size, early registration is highly recommended.
About the Instructor: Jonathan's practice of pressure point manipulation has spanned thirty years, and includes Chinese pressure point and meridian theory for martial arts & healing, Kyusho-waza (vital points used in Japanese martial arts), and a system of deep tissue, meridian-based massage developed by the late Okazaki-sensei. He currently resides in Seattle, where he pursues his three passions of martial arts, fire-spinning, and Japanese-style rope bondage. Together with his partner O, he runs SeattleShibari.Com, a website dedicated to propagating rope bondage for art & pleasure.
