CROWNS
Show off your HATtitude and join Mahogany Ensemble Theatre for the 5th Anniversary Season opening production of CROWNS by Regina Taylor adapted from the book by Michael Cunningham and Craig Marberry.
There is a hat for every occasion, from flirting to churchgoing to funerals to baptisms, and the tradition of hats is traced back to African rituals and slavery and forward to the New Testament and current fashion. CROWNS is a spirited tribute of the faith and fashion of African-American women and their love of church hats. Crowns peers into the lives of women as it celebrates family, faith, love, loss and finding one's true identity. Yes, HATS are allowed.
CROWNS is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
