HITCHCOCK: HIS FIRST SUSPENSE MASTERWORKS - Sky Room Talks
Join host Glenn Andreiev for a look at Hitchcock's early works that marked him as a master fi lmmaker long before directing in Hollywood
Before Alfred Hitchcock arrived in Hollywood in 1939, he was already regarded as England's top fi lm director. Hitchcock's early British thrillers proved he was a successful experimental movie-maker, keeping audiences riveted with his highly visual tales of suspense and macabre humor. Come to the cinema as returning fi lm historian Glenn Andreiev presents a class examining these early British Hitchcock masterworks. Clips from his famous British films like The 39 Steps (1935) to lesser screened gems like Blackmail (1929) and Secret Agent (1936) will show the beloved Hitchcock style begin with a bang.
Glenn Andreiev is a long time Long Island filmmaker and film historian. His writings on film history can be found in The Village Connection, and Films In Review. He has lectured on film history at the Cinema Arts Centre and at The School Of Visual Arts, where he holds a BFA degree in film. His work as a film-maker has appeared on CNN, TruTV, Newsday, and The View. Currently, he is working on a film entitled Cat's View
