SF Choral Artists 2014-15 Season Subscription

The 30th anniversary season:
POSTCARDS FROM ABROAD: Dec 13, 2014 at 8 pm San Francisco, Dec 14, 2014 at 4 pm East Bay, Dec 20, 2014 at 8 pm Palo Alto. Intimate and majestic, joyous and reflective, spirited and meditative; sample the celebrations of many lands. Works include Brahms' beloved masterpiece "O Heiland reiß die Himmel auf" and Poulenc's jubilant Christmas motet "Hodie Christus natus est"; the program travels east for Stravinsky's gorgeous "Ave Maria" and a traditional chant from Guria in Georgia; showcases pieces from Kenya's Taita people, Peru's Quechua people, Hindu culture, Armenia, a celebratory work from South Korea; and features world premieres by Composers-in and Not-in-Residence Daniel Afonso and Wayne Eastwood.

WISDOM,WIT, & WONDER: Mar 21/28/29, 2015, in PA/SF/EB. Sages and mystics, philosophers and poets share their wisdom, wit, and wonder at the world around us. Spend an evening with great thinkers from eastern and western religions, from the ancient world to the 21st century.

OLD MASTERS, YOUNG PRODIGIES: June 6/13/14, 2015, in PA/SF/EB. Our 30th Anniversary inaugural "SFCA+1" concert! We are joined by internationally renowned jazz/classical violinist, Mads Tolling. Celebrating composers who had the change to be "old masters"--Felix & Fanny Mendelssohn, Gideon Klein, Gibbons, Moses Hogan, Mozart, Distler, Gershwin, others--and the winners of our New Voices Project competition for composers under age 30.
