Flamenco Rosario's Artistic Director, Rosario Ancer, and Musical Director, Victor Kolstee, take great pride in announcing that Spain's renowned award-winning flamenco legend Joaquin Grilo along with national and local artists will grace Vancouver for the 2014 edition of the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival.

The festival (started in 1990) presents flamenco artists performing in a range of styles from traditional to contemporary, and soloists to ensemble works. As a gathering place for the ever-growing local and national flamenco community, the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival takes the audience from flamenco's origins as a blend of cultures through to today's continual evolution of music, song, and dance.

Hailing from Jerez de La Frontera, Spain, it is with great pleasure that this year's festival welcomes one of the most influential artists in Spanish flamenco, Joaquin Grilo, performing at the Vancouver Playhouse for a one-night presentation of "Grilo in Concert" accompanied on stage by internationally acclaimed musicians; guitarist Juan Requena & singer Jose Valencia. Proclaimed Spain's best flamenco dancer in 1997, Grilo approaches his work with unbounded energy and unparalleled skills, exhibiting an uncanny mastery of all flamenco styles.
