Star Anna, Zach Broocke, Jason Dodson (Maldives), Marlaina Youch
Star Anna is an Americana/alt-country vocalist and guitarist from Ellensburg, Washington. Guns 'n' Roses' Duff McKagan wrote of her singing, "She is the real deal. There is a pain in her voice that comes from somewhere deep, a place I dare not ask where it comes from." NPR describes her as having "a voice full of bluster that will slam the door behind you, then find itself alone to take in the loneliness, the quiet, the beauty." Her album "Go To Hell" was released in 2013 on Pearl Jam's Mike McCready's Spark and Shine Record label.
Prolific Nashville songwriter and performer Zach Broocke is embarking on his first Pacific NorthWest tour this Summer with a stop at Conor Byrne Pub on Friday, September 5th.
In 2014, Broocke had a number of film and TV placements, notably his song "Sweet Ambrosia" aired on Criminal Minds (CBS) in January and his song "Remember Me" premiered in the film "Song One" (World View Entertainment) at Sundance Film Festival.
While releasing albums since 2001, his two most recent full-lengths albums WatchDog LookOut (2011, Dualtone Records) and Enjoy The Ride: Solo Writes 2001-2012 (2012, Lakeshore Records) received critical acclaim. Broocke has penned songs with David Hodges (Alan Jackson, Waylon Jennings), Troy Johnson (Dixie Chicks, Keith Urban), Scott Bennett (Brian Wilson), David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Chris Daughtry), and Mike Busbee (Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum).
Zach has toured nationwide and opened up for Amos Lee, Bob Schneider, JD McPherson, Stoney Larue, Todd Snider, Shawn Mullins and Raul Malo to name a few. He was interviewed on the NPR show "Art of the Song" in 2013 and has been featured in numerous publications about his career.
"Zach is an amazing visionary. He allows just enough balance between the emotions without compromising any of them. Pure vocal butter," writes Independent Songwriter Magazine.
"Broocke is an old soul with a contemporary twist. He could break hearts with his melancholy swoon yet he displays an edgier grit ... earnest and bittersweet songs that follow you around for days" writes American Songwriter Magazine.
His latest co-write is the acclaimed single "Mean Kinda Love" recorded by Seattle musician Star Anna, who will co-headline the tour with Broocke. The track appears on Star Anna's fourth full length, Go To Hell (Spark & Shine Records) released in 2013. A local of Seattle, Washington, by way of Ellensburg, Star Anna is a regular on the Pacific NorthWest music scene.
Also joining the two musicians is up-and-coming Nashville artist, by way of Seattle, Marlaina Youch and local favorite James Dodson from The Maldives.
