Youngteam, Satsangi + Daniel Land & Guests
It's our second Live Recolution show, and with our cohorts at Northern Star Records we have an absolute belter of a lineup for you!
Headlining we are delighted to bring you Youngteam! Named after the Mogwai album (a pretty good way to start!), this Swedish 4 piece bring to mind My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Sonic Flower Grooveera Primal Scream and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, but they also have a particularly unique sound completely their own. With their second album - Fading Into Light - having been released this year to critical acclaim, this is a band you need to listen to!
Before them we have the mighty Satsangi! Reviewed in Rolling Stone Magazine, Satsangi released their debut album 'No Shoes In Satsang Hall', signed to the Mr Babu Label of New York and Mumbai.
The New York connection being established in 2008 when the band were amongst the original artists contributing on the launch of MTV Iggy, with their videos 'Iodine', 'The First Time', 'B-Groove', and 'Jai Jai'.
Satsangi featured in the launch of MTV Roots in Mumbai 2011, a new MTV India show promoting independent music from worldwide artists with South Indian connections. Their videos continue to be broadcast by MTV India, are featured on Pepsi MTV Indies and shown throughout the UK by the BBC.
The band have released on Northern Star Records and are collaborators in establishing 100% APE, a new independent record label. After playing at Northern Star Records 3 day Psych Festival, London 2014, Satsangi are active contributors to the label's 'REVOLUTION IN SOUND', spreading the wall of noise message throughout the UK.
They have gigged extensively, including with The Kills, The Primitives, whilst recent festivals include Cornbury (2012 and 2103), Greenbelt and Wychwood (2012) on the BBC Introducing Stage.
And opening the evening we have the sublime dreampop of Daniel Land. A long time favourite of ours, whether as solo, with his band - Daniel Land & The Modern Painters, Riverrun or as part of The Engineers, Daniel has always managed to produce wonderful songs, inspired by his hero Robin Guthrie, and a live performance that captures the beauty of his song writing.
With Ola's Kool Kitchen on DJ duties before, between and after, this will be a spectacular night of music you will want to be part of!
