Video Premier of "Flip! Extremely Sorry"
Utility Board Shop presents the Video Premier of "Flip! Extremely Sorry" exclusively at MADCAP Theaters!
See the trailer here!
It's been five years since the last Flip video came out. Think about it? that's a long time. George W. Bush was still in his first term as president, you weren't in the same school that you're in now, and you were probably still buying games for Playstation 2! Basically, a lot has gone down since then, both in the skateboard world and beyond. So what does this mean for the Flip video? Plenty of things.
-- Geoff Rowley and Mark Appleyard are going to blow minds. Picture every piece of footage and every photo you've seen of them over the last few years. The scary part is that Geoff's huge trailer 180 (above) and his ridiculous Thrasher cover, and Appleyard's recent ads and interview on SLAP are probably just the tip of the iceberg.
-- The kids will surprise some people. A lot of people tend to hate on little kids in videos, but we think that Flip might be on to something here because these kids actually look good when they skate. Curren Caples might be the most stylish 13 year-old out there, and Louis Lopez and Luan Oliveira will combine for some interesting skating. We're calling that either these guys are going to share a part in the video or will wind up making the bonus section worth while. Either way, you're going to see some sick skating. And we know he's not a kid, but he gets lumped with them sometimes: David Gonzalez will most definitely shut the haters up. Dude went pro almost a year before this video, and you know it's gotta be for a reason.
-- Sick tranny skating. C'mon, Rune Glifberg, Bob Burnquist, and Lance Mountain? There's so much to expect from these three that it's hard to fit it one paragraph, so let's break it down to three points. Rune's speedy lines, Bob's Mega Ramp, and Lance's backyard pool antics -- need we say more? Oh and by Lance's backyard pool antics, we mean the one that Flip had built for him in his backyard.
-- Tom Penny. The most mysterious man in skateboarding will come through with the goods. Penny has been in and out of the spotlight (mostly out) for some time now, but we're hoping that it's because that Flip isn't trying to spoil his footage by releasing any photos just yet. Hopefully, we won't be let down.
-- The Firm transplant Rodrigo TX hasn't had a video part since 2004, so that should be enough of a reason to check his part out. Rodrigo came to Flip with Lance Mountain after the Firm went under, and he couldn't be a better fit. We've seen a few of the tricks in person that he's gotten and boy were they smooth.
-- Two words -- Shane Cross. After mourning his tragic death in 2007, the curiosity of the footage that Shane has piled up while he was alive has been growing. For someone who did a nosegrind down El Toro on his first try, you know there's gotta be some more insane stuff in there. Shane's footy will undoubtedly amaze, and will solidify him as one of the most talented people to step on a board.
