Racial Justice Lecture by DR. HEATHER HACKMAN: Essential Components for a 21st Century Education: Vision, Passion and a Commitment to Justice In a Complex Global Society
Because of the social, political and global realities today's students will face, a more rigorous, complex and visionary education is required. This keynote addresses this concern by presenting four essential components of the 21st century education and suggests ways that our campuses can carry them out. These elements transcend major and content areas and instead can be applied to every aspect of academic life in the hope of creating a more comprehensive and yet interconnected educational experience for all students.
Followed by a Q&A and short discussion.
This event is free and open to the public.
On Friday, October 17th, Dr. Hackman will facilitate the following workshop: Teaching Racial Justice Across the Curriculum: Developing and Using a Critical Racial Justice Mindset
