Cinema in the Cemetery: Alien Invasion Film Series
The Friends of the Cemetery in partnership with The Trylon Microcinema and All-Star Productions will show The Blob, Plan 9 From Outer Space, and The Thing From Another World this fall at Pioneers and Soldiers Memorial Cemetery (2925 Cedar Avenue) in Minneapolis.
All films Gates 5:30pm | Showtime: dusk (approximately 7:00pm)
TICKETS: $8 for one film | $20 for all three films. Children 12 and under free (donations gladly accepted). At-door ticket sales are cash only - credit cards will not be accepted.
DATES
The proceeds from the alien invasion film series will help support the Friends of the Cemetery's efforts to restore the limestone pier fence that serves as the border of the cemetery along Lake Street and Cedar Avenue.
Come early to experience the historic cemetery and a smart phone history hunt. Taco Taxi food truck will sell refreshments during the event. No coolers or alcoholic beverages, pets or video-taping allowed. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome. Area immediately in front of the stage will be a chair-free zone.
Getting to the show: On-street parking is available. No general parking within the cemetery; some accessible parking will be available. We encourage using public transportation or biking to the event. The Lake Street light rail stop is a short walk from the cemetery, and it is also easily accessible from multiple bus routes. Bike parking will be available within the cemetery.
