Almost three years to the date since we last presented him to a large Town Hall audience, renowned Bainbridge Island mountain climber and author Ed Viesturs is here again with a much-anticipated new chronicle, K2: Life and Death on the Worlds Most Dangerous Mountain (Broadway). K2 is the worlds second highest mountain. Considered much deadlier than Everest, it has claimed the lives of 77 climbers since 1954 including eleven who died in a single thirty-six-hour period in 2008. K2 features in-depth portrayals of seven ascents ranging from Ed Viesturs own 1992 climb, which almost got him and Scott Fischer killed on up through 2008s tragedy.
