Music of the Tsars - Saint John's Episcopal Cathedral
Our 2009 concert of this name was a sellout, and is still being talked about five years on! A handful of favorites from that concert will be repeated (the Cui "Velichit dusha," Golovanov "Otche nash," Kalinnikov "Cherubic Hymn"), and somce highlights from the work of Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov and Tchaikovsky. In any case, prepare yourself to be amazed and have your soul fed by the solid harmonies, contemplative pacing, low bass parts, and swelling fortes of the best of Russian Orthodox choral music.
