The Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra returns to the UWM Recital Hall on Sunday November 2, at 3:00pm, with musical director and acclaimed classical guitarist Rene Izquierdo.
The concert features:
- Carlo Aonzo - mandolinist, is a native of Savona, Italy where he grew up immersed in music. Carlo's awards include the "Vivaldi" prize of the 6th annual Vittorio Pitzianti National Mandolin Competition in Venice and first prize at the 27th annual Walnut Valley National Mandolin Contest in Winfield, Kansas.
- Linda Binder - violinist and mandolinist, freelances and performs regularly with several ensembles in the Milwaukee / Chicago area. Linda performed with and served as the musical director of the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra for many years.

He joined the MMO in 2001 and we have been happy and extremely fortunate to have had his mandolin solo playing featured at several of our concerts and on our latest recording. Mischa tours Europe several times a year as a soloist with various Russian ensembles and with his countryman "bayan" virtuoso Stas Venglevsky.
The MMO was founded in 1900 and plays music arranged for 1st and 2nd mandolin, mandola, mando-cello, mando-bass, guitar, percussion and voice. The MMO has appeared twice on "Prairie Home Companion" and plays at music festivals and concert halls throughout the Midwest.
