Once upon a Piano (26min)
Since childhood throughout his gloomy life, only one thing used to pull Salem out of his despair; a beautiful girl playing piano behind a window in the next building.
When an old friend comes to town with a tempting job offer abroad, Salem feels compelled to find a reason to stay. Salem starts going around asking about the piano house and trying to find a way to meet the girl.
High Heels (20min)
"Nawal the recently widowed social snob finds out that her husband left her nothing but an empty bank account and a bad reputation. She is convinced that his affair with his young mistress had lead them to bankruptcy but still unable to prove it because she cannot unlock his mobile phone in order to show her daughter the proof. And now as the family image is at risk especially as people are starting to gossip about the status if her daughter and her little kid who lives with her and whose husband is supposedly in Canada fixing up their immigration papers while the truth is that he abandoned the wife and the kid. not to mention the old spinster aunt who also lives with them and who still lives in the age of black and white movies. All the fuss begins when suddenly the "mistress" shows up at the funeral.
Borderline (25min)
Mokhtar and Saadia come from the countryside and are very much in love. But fate deals them a bitter blow and they are separated. Months later, they are destined to meet again, at a crossroads, amidst the alien environs of a big city.
Birds of the Medina (Asafir el Medina) (25min)
Seven-year-old Khaled is determined to face his fears. One day, he wanders off to find the fabled troll that mother's warn their children is lurking beyond the city walls. What he finds teaches is a lesson in peace, compassion, and courage.
Lulu's Curls (6min)
Lulu is about to start the first grade, but she hates her curly hair and will do anything to make it straight. With the help of her straight-haired younger sister, LuluÂs numerous attempts donÂt work and lead to some very humorous results.
Thorns and Silk (13min)
This short documentary examines the lives of four women in the West Bank, each of whom work in a male-dominated job. A wedding filmmaker, a taxi driver, a police trainee and a delivery truck driver all break from tradition to provide for themselves and their families.
